The Story Behind This Project

I grew up in a family of educators and public servants. Both of my parents are school district superintendents serving low-income, diverse communities that urgently need funding. In August 2025, my mom asked if I could help her team search for funding opportunities. What I saw was completely broken: her team was spending weeks manually searching across scattered portals, trying to gauge eligibility across district needs and external funding requirements, and then relying on consultants who can take 10–15% of awarded funds.

I immediately wanted to help districts like the ones my parents serve—and I also wanted to understand how widespread this issue was. I began interviewing other school districts, nonprofits, universities, and even government agencies, and I kept hearing the same thing: organizations across the country miss out on billions in available funding each year because the process is fragmented, manual, and supported by outdated tools. GrantWare AI is built to solve this exact problem.
