The Story Behind This Project

StudyBUddy holds a special place in my heart because it was the very first independent project I ever worked on.

I had just discovered Mapbox and thought it would be incredibly cool to visualize my college campus in an interactive way. Then I thought about a real problem I was dealing with as a freshman, finding study spots around campus. Every library seemed packed, and I had no idea which buildings even had study spaces available. So I decided to build something to solve that problem.

The result is StudyBUddy, an app that helps students find study spots all around campus. You can see which spaces are open, which ones are filling up, and plan your study sessions accordingly.

Open Source

StudyBUddy is fully open source. I encourage you to clone the repo and adapt it for your own college campus or school. Every campus has the same problem of students hunting for study spots, and this could help.
